We are all influenced by the people around us. Whether it's our friends, family, colleagues, or even strangers on social media, the opinions and actions of others can shape our own behavior and attitudes. But have you ever stopped to consider the impact that you, as an individual, can have on your own community of influence?
Your community of influence refers to the group of people you interact with on a regular basis, whether in person or online. It could be your immediate family, your coworkers, your friends, or your social media followers. These are the people who are most likely to be affected by your words and actions, and who are also most likely to influence you in return.
At Dress for Success Greater New York City we know that building your personal community of influence impacts your overall success. We work with women across the five bouroughs to coach and train skills that allow learners to build successful communities of influence and in return achieve their greatest potential.
So, how can you make a positive impact on your community of influence?
One way to reflect on your influence is to ask yourself "am I contributing to a positive atmosphere? I often say that before your feet event hit hte floor in the morning - you decide what kind of day you are going to have. Make sure you give yourself what you need to start the day off "on the right foot!"
By taking these steps, you can become a positive force in your own community of influence. While it can feel overwhelming to be a positive influencer in your world, remember that if you focus on the present, you can certainly make a difference in the lives of those around you. So, go out there and be the change you want to see in your community!
