Women deserve equal access to employment opportunities that provide a livable wage. To help women secure meaningful employment, we provide resources such as career mentoring, job-seeking skills training, and job-search support. Additionally, we leverage community wide partnerships and connect with local employers who are committed to hiring and promoting women. Finally, we support women in building and expanding networks with other successful women throughout New York City to learn about job opportunities and build a support system.

Provide a network of support to help women sustain employment.

To help women sustain employment, we create a network of support that includes educational resources, access to mentorship programs, and connections to community-based organizations. Educational resources include job-training workshops, computer literacy classes, and resume-building workshops. Mentorship programs involve pairing experienced professionals (subject matter experts) with newcomers to the job market, so that the newcomers can learn from their mentors and build the skills they need to succeed in the workplace. We leverage partnerships with over 50 community-based organizations that provide emotional support and resources such as childcare, transportation, and housing. By creating this network of support, we can help women sustain employment and achieve their career goals.

Improve the financial acumen and economic stability of women.

Improving the financial acumen and economic stability of women is one of our priority goals. Dress for Success New York City does this through education and training. Investing in programs that provide financial education and training to women can help them gain the skills and knowledge needed to become more confident and independent in their financial decisions. Additionally, we work with women to help them become more aware of the different financial products and services available to them, allowing them to make more informed decisions and become more financially secure. Furthermore, our mentorship and networking opportunities can help women build relationships and learn from each other's successes and failures. These strategies help us to improve the financial acumen and economic stability of women.

Expand awareness of the issues that impact the women we serve.

We expand awareness of the issues that impact the women we serve by utilizing a variety of methods. We create informative blogs, articles, and videos that can be shared across social media platforms. We also host online talks and webinars to educate people about the issues and help spread the word. Additionally, we partner with organizations and influencers to create campaigns and help raise awareness. Finally, we engage in local outreach initiatives and provide women with the resources they need. By using a combination of these strategies, we can work together to increase awareness of the issues that impact the women we serve.
